Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Detected Content Mastery ("DCM"), a service provided by Providence Society, Inc. ("Providence"). By using DCM, you agree to these Terms. If you act on behalf of an institution, you represent you have authority to bind it.

1. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Educational data, privacy, and DPA

We process data under our Privacy Policy, Data Retention & Deletion Policy, and Subprocessors list. For institutions, we provide a Data Processing Addendum (DPA). DCM is designed to support FERPA/COPPA-aligned operations where applicable.

Under applicable institutional agreements, DCM operates as a service provider under the institution's direct control for authorized educational purposes.

4. AI-assisted grading and academic decisions

DCM uses AI to assist scoring and analysis. Outputs are assistive; final grading decisions remain with educators or the institution.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing cycle. Except where required by law or signed enterprise terms, fees are non-refundable.

We maintain reasonable security safeguards. If a security incident affects personal or student data, we will notify customers according to applicable law or contract timelines.

8. Intellectual property

DCM (including code, models, design, and marks) is owned by Providence. You retain ownership of your content and grant us a limited license to operate and improve the service.

9. Service changes

We may modify features with reasonable notice when practical. If a paid feature is discontinued, we will provide credit or refund where required by law or contract.

10. Termination and data handling

You may stop using DCM at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations. After termination, data is handled under applicable policy and contract terms.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

DCM is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. Providence is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, unless a signed enterprise agreement states otherwise.
